Uthingo SED is registered NPO, that focuses on providing quality education opportunities to black children from underdeveloped areas, where this opportunity would normally not exist.
We strongly believe that more well educated individuals will change the future of our country, we want to nurture future entrepreneurs, leaders and change makers. By doing so we focus on a holistic approach to education and our recruitment process relies strongly on not only the child’s academic achievement but also the dedication and grit shown by the learner.
How Our Programme Works For You
As professionals who have worked in the B-BBEE industry for years we understand the requirements of the B-BBEE scorecard, specifically the SED scorecard as well as the verification process for this element. The following services is how we ensure full value to our clients through the implementation of our programmes.
Step 1
Uthingo SED is able to manage your entire SED spend in line with your targets to create the most value per student that you are assisting, ensuring that your targets are met according to your scorecard and codes. Uthingo SED is also happy to look at industry specific programmes for school children such providing IT equipment to high school learners who require this for their studies.
Step 2
Uthingo SED provides frequent progress reports for any learners that are assisted by our client companies. We are dedicated to the success of each and every learner we sponsor and as such keep a watchful eye over these learners.
Step 3
Uthingo SED undertakes an audit every year for a competent persons report in order to assist our clients with the smooth running of their verification process. This report provides confirmation of the black % in our beneficiary base as well as the total spend that has contributed to the upliftment of our beneficiary in an educational landscape.
Our mission is to create opportunities for learners to study at Curro educational centers of excellence, enabling them to excel in an environment designed for their success. By fostering personal growth and achievement, we aim to inspire not only the learners but also their families and communities. Our organization employs a robust full-funding model, designed to ensure that every learner’s educational experience is fully supported. This model involves a collaborative financial partnership between Curro, the partner school, and Uthingo. By distributing the financial responsibilities, we ensure that learners have access to quality education without the stress of financial constraints. This approach not only facilitates uninterrupted academic progress but also nurtures personal development, empowering students to thrive.
Ultimately, our goal is to cultivate an environment where learners can excel and, in turn, inspire positive social change within their communities and beyond, driving the South African Economy forward.
